New Technologies for Outcome Measures in Retinal Disease

New Review from the European Vision Institute Special Interest Focus Group on Outcome Measures in Retinal Disease published in Ophthalmic Research

A recent Special Interest Focus Group meeting sponsored by the European Vision Institute (EVI) reviewed new technologies for outcome measures in the field of retinal diseases. The Department of Ophthalmology at Basel University in cooperation with the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel (IOB) hosted the meeting, which involved presentations from an international group of scientists and clinicians. The scientific content of this meeting that was focused on selected topics is summarized below in conjunction with a review of published literature within the field.

  1. New Developments in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  2. Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Ophthalmoscopy (FLIO)
  3. Artificial Intelligence in Retinal Imaging
  4. Visual Function Endpoints in Macular Disease Including Microperimetry
  5. Advantages of Induced Pluripotent Cell (iPS) Technology and Retinal Organoids
  6. Advancements in Diagnostic Imaging Modalities
  7. Modeling and Analysis of the Hill of Vision of Static Perimetry (Visual Field Modeling Analysis)
