  7. The Ageing Eye Conference took place at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, Germany from 20 - 21 March 2009. This Conference addressed the following issues:
    1. the limitation of knowledge of ageing eye diseases;
    2. the understimation of their socioeconomic impact;
    3. the poor understanding of their pathogenesis and
    4. the research fragmentation into their prevention and treatment within Europe;
